Does anyone know any other online dealers (preferably in the US), that have
this wheel? I really want it but dont want to pay an extra $50 for
shipping.
I may just have to get the Logitech wheel, but I'd much rather have the Act
Labs.
From having grown up in Anchorage, I know that many mail order houses
treat Alaskans like they live in a foreign country, not the USA.
Hell, it's only been a state for what? Forty years now? <g>
There's probably some insurance and customs issues they're trying to
avoid by going with the premium service. Doesn't mean anybody has to
like it, though...
Seems like everyone knows somebody that lives Outside in Seattle or
such and usually makes a trip out once or twice a year. Anybody you
know taking a trip to the lower 48? Perhaps you can order and have it
shipped to where they're going and they can bring it back with their
luggage?
Alaskans are supposed to be hardy, resourceful folks. You're letting
'em down here! <g>

I just ordered mine yesterday, so I've been through the Shipping info you
encountered. Suggestion: somewhere on their site is a link to a list of
Fry's Electronics stores and I remember some on the Left Coast...maybe you
could call one of their stores and see if the Fry's mark-up would still be
less than ACT Labs' freight charges?
Got my order confirmation this morning...and busy lookin' for one of DJ's
