Jumping car & static in N3

I recently started getting static sounds when trying to run Nascar3.It also
acts like the steering wheel is "jumping" left and right. The car kinda jerks
all by itself.I've removed and reinstalled the sound card and drivers for
the wheel but it's still there. The wheel problem happens in a couple of
games but the static is in Nascar all the time and once or twice in other
games.Does this sound like sound card problems to anybody? I downloaded the
files from Viatech that Creative said would fix it but they didn't work
either.Here's the system specs:

AMD K6/2-500
Epox MVP3C
128mb SDRAM
TNT2 M64 32Mb
SB Live Value
Thrustmaster NASCAR Pro
Directx7

The static could be caused by your wheel. Sounds like your wheel is the
cause. Do you have another controller you can try?

I hooked up my trusty ol' Thrustmaster Gran Prix last night and it does the
same thing.Any other ideas?

Does it jump when you recalibrate? Or while you are in TMSCOPE?
I would guess you need to clean your pots. Or get a logitech :-)

Both wheels calibrate perfectly,no jump at all..(I do like the idea of a
Logitech though;-) The car will even jump like it's getting bumped from
behind while sitting in the pits at an idle. When the car jumps, the tach and
engine sound jumps too.I recently updated to the newest drivers for the TNT2
also.Is there any chance they could cause this?

I too get the static very intermittently so I dont worry. I had the spikes
you to are getting too. I havean MX300  sound card I got rid of the spikes
by changing the gameport to the Vortex in "Game Controllers'/Advanced. Dont
know if your S/B has its' own gameport. The other thing I do is to turn off
the'poll with interrupt when enabled' setting in 'Game
Controllers'/Advanced. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you installed Direct X7 . I f you did then go get the newest
version (7a I think). This worked for me.

Have you tried changing to the Papyrus driver in the options/controller
screen?
