Yes...Finally the two meet!
At least excellent LAN play - no doubt, however, that the online play will
meet or exceed the limits of GPL.
I doubt Nascar will bite...They didn't get where they are by betting on a dead
horse. The multiplayer in GPL is so good (and I'm assuming N4 will be at
least equal), that a company setting up a dedicated game server will be
cost-prohibitive.
The physics were great - as was the sound. I only drove Lowe's, but getting
T-boned on the back straight was a 'jarring' experience. Can't wait for some
proper FF. =)
Odd thing...Nascar Heat's already got it, and it looks like N4 will too - Gee,
are the France family finally giving in? ;)
Nice setup at Lowe's. Interested to see what Rhawn Black comes up with. ;)
However, dirty pots gave the on-screen wheels the 'jitters'. Made it
difficult to skirt the wall on the backstraight without over correcting.
Time will tell, but you're probably right. Finally, no more re-hashed sims.
I found GP3 to be luke-warm in feel (late beta) compared to Papy's N4 (early
alpha). N4 had much more 'road feel', while GP3 IMHO appeared to be an
ultra-optimized version of GP2...The damn thing still feels like driving a
monorail.
WSC had to be the jewel of the show, but like N4, was an early build with no
AI present. The physics, while only optimized about 60%, felt great and
realistic. If all goes well and as planned, WSC will nudge GPL right off its
pedestal - no shit. Chris and Tony appear to have full autonomy as to outcome
of the gameplay - very nice. Licensing is another issue...
Yep...Should make for some great multi - Nice job from the folks who created
Viper. The only caveat is that aside from the paintkit (just like in Viper),
there won't be much to tweak (text files and such). Much better
looking/playing than N2K, however.
Cheers!
