Thanks Jon

i went to the Sierra board, and saw a message from a Papyrus rep, saying
that Sierra is accepting orders now, they have available stock, and that he
was sorry for the delay, however when i called Sierra' s number
(800-757-7707) they said they knew nothing of the N3 Expansion Pack,  not
available yet. They were trying to sell me The old Nascar Truck Game..lol.
What's going on? I think this whole deal sucks big time, not Papy's fault i
believe, just SIerra's

This whole deal is so screwed up I don't think anyone REALLY knows.
They obviously have the CDs printed as well as the literature that goes
along with it. Could it be that packing the thing in it's own pretty,
overpriced box  is the hold up?
If so, then to hell with the box. Sandwich the thing in some stiff cardboard
and pack in a padded mailer and get it out the damn door!!!! AT A REDUCED
PRICE NO LESS!!!!!!
There ain't a soul out there that is wanting to buy it to get a pretty box.
Even better set it up to download for free or at the very most a nominal
fee. Geez 20 bucks for a pretty box that contains a 50 cent CD that the
actual useful part of the product only uses a minute fraction of the space
on. That's a real brilliant marketing scheme there Sierra.

Well, it seems they don't even know their own SKU (which, according to
their website is BUD0060)!!!  This is gonna be hard for them to sell.  The
guy I got on the phone kept saying "I know I saw it somewhere in here the
other day..."  Thanks.  for any who call, make SURE they don't try to sell
you SKU 70600 - that's the old N99 Trucks.
    Check http://www.sierra.com/store/quicksheet?SKU=BUD0060

Now I'm getting anxious.  I've got my 3 boxes of Cheerios - planning on
ordering NL tonight (can't beat $1.99!!!!!!!!!!!), and - of course - I
already have N3.  I'm DAMN sure not gonna pay $45 for the trucks!!

Personally I have to agree that Sierra really screwed the pooch on marketing
this product.  I dont blame Papy at all...they're supplying us with trucks for
N3.  Kudos to them for that...but Sierra is killing the sales of it themselves.
Several years ago when Sierra bought out Papy I thought "GREAT!! Now they have
a major publisher and financial backing."  Now I think more along the lines of
"Sierra is killing arguably the best Racing Sim design group we have ever
seen."  I'm gonna wait for either the acceleration pack to come WAY down in
price and buy a second copy of N3 and NL to get the trucks (It'll have to get
below 20 bucks for me to do that though).  Or I'll eventually wait them out and
buy it when it gets released by itself.  However I might have to break down and
mail order the darn thing.

You know, what's funny is about 2 hours after I talked to them and had the
guy search for "trucks" where he could ONLY find the original program, I got
an email saying it was shipping!  Wow!  They're fast.  From 0 to stocking in
only 2 hours!  If only EVERY company could be so fast!  Can't believe the
guy I talked to couldn't find ANY reference to it!  No SKU, no delivery, no
announcement!  And then they change the SKU from their web page!!! Idiots!

Gunner
(with my confirmed order for the trucks)
