OT: wav editing proggy?

Guys n' gals,
Does anyone here know of a wav editing proggy that can speed up or slow
down music? I have an old gig tape here, but it was recorded on a wonky ol'
tape player, and consequently runs slow - if I can just speed it up after
converting to wav/mp3 I'll be happy as Larry. Any ideas?

The Soundblaster Audigy is 'supposed' to have that ability, but I've never
tried the software to see if it works.

You can do that with the Cool Edit 2000 demo from www.syntrillium.com.  For
30 days, anyway.

Cool Edit Pro 2 is out, and very good so I've heard.
