Help wanted with LWFF VROC profile settings

by Puggma » Sat, 17 Feb 2001 06:19:39

I am trying to set up a LWFF profile to start VROC racing. I have set the
.exe file to VROC.exe and the profile starts VROC no problem, but when I
join a race the profile settings are not applied to the wheel. My profile to
start GPL is fine. HELP wanted as I am racing online on Sunday and need the
chat settings (PO, SRY, NP, F10 chabnge view etc) asigned to buttons on my
wheel.

What I did was to copy all the wheel settings for GPL and apply them to the
VROC profile. If you luanch GPL from within VROC the LWFF profiler doesn't
apply the GPL profile to it since it thinks you're racing something called
VROC. Works fine for me.

All you need to do is point the LWFF profiler to the
gpllaunch.exe, not the vroc.exe in the same folder.

That's correct in theory.

Unluckily a lot of us (me inclusive) have trouble with that procedure.
GPLlaunch.exe starts the appropriate profile only sometimes.
If it works: congrats.
If not, I recommend the following trick:
Apply all your GPL-specific setting already in the profiler/default settings. Do
not make any additional changes in game-specific settings for GPL.exe and
GGLlaunch.exe.  This makes sure that the settings are active, also in case that
the profile wasn't started.

Assign the buttons for left view, right view,... in GPL-options and not in the
profiler.
You can now add other stuff for the other buttons in the profiler, but don't
overwrite the in-GPL-assigned buttons. The other stuff will be available only
sometimes, but the overall settings and left/right view are available in any
case.

Hope this helps
