GP2 - Performance with AMD 586 133 - Any Good?

Hi all,

(P200 owners can start s***ing now)

I've just bought GP2 which I'm running on a 486DX2 66, I can get 11fps in
SVGA with pretty much all graphics turned off and in single car practice
its fairly playable, racing is a no no because the whole thing is just too
slow once the other cars appear, my processor occupancy has been up to
400% :-((

I really don't want to run in vga and I can't afford to upgrade to a
pentium, but I can get a PCI motherboard with AMD586 133 at a reasonable
price.

Is anyone using this processor and if so what sort of SVGA frame rates
are you getting? Also what processor occupancies do you get.

As a depressing 'benchmark' I turned all graphic details on in SVGA and
the system estimates less than 8fps, then just sitting in the pits
awaiting a practice lap at Monaco
my processor occupancy is 407%.

Is the 586 a worthwhile upgrade or do I put the game back in the box for 6
months while I start saving?

Thanks in advance.

Mark.
