ok, has been asked many times, but...
what is the best rally sim out there (apart from RT, already got), with nice
long scenic tracks, and the most realistic handling... would be even better
if it has the Pug 206 in aswell! would be interested in anything coming out
in the near future (up till autumn (fall) i suppose...)
thx peeps!

When somebody makes that game...I'd like to know myself....

But seriously, it seems that you either opt long, realistic stages (RC2000)
or you get somewhat pleasing physics (Rally Masters). I love the RC2000
stages, but I hate the way the cars drive, even with all sorts of physics
patches and updates.  With Rally Masters, I love the way the cars drive, but
I wish the stages were longer and more varied.  If somebody comes up with a
way to make addon tracks for RM...with that and GPL, I figure I'd be a happy
racer for years to come.

Well, it's not a Rally, but the Ring and Spa in GPL are quite long and quite
scenic.

And until you drive it for a few years, you'll see the tree's and houses up
close.  Many times :)

There was a site that was going to mod Rally Championship to meet the WRC
2002 drivers, but that site was on the old racesim.net group and I haven't
found it now that they've migrated to the m4 net.   They already had the
PooJoe's and SitreeOn's painted...
(I don't know where they were as far as progress or physics)

It has some connection with RC, but it's on the biz side, not the creative
(developers), so it doesn't play or look the same.  Much more arcade-y.

Do you mean rally newsgroups?

There are two that I check out all the time:

rec.autos.cport.rally

and

Alt.autos.sport.rally

TB

That's the problem.  There's a rally sim with so-so handling but very (very)
long tracks (Rally Championship), there's a rally sim with average handling
and short tracks (Rally Masters, not Master Rallye which is crap).  Then
there's another one that has almost arcade physics but medium-lenght tracks
(Colin McRae Rally 2).  Oh and there's also Rally Trophy, with good physics
and medium-lenght tracks.

None has been able to have at the same time, long stages and realistic
handling.
