Hello Lads!

Wondering if someone could help me regarding a GP3 problem I am having!??

Since I have rebuilt my computer (new specs P4 1.7 gig, 256 ram, ATI Radeon
card etc etc with Windows ME)
when I load Grand Prix 3 and go to start it I just get the error sign
"DirectX not installed" ?? Well it is installed as I have installed the
version off of the disc and a newer version from another game and alas I am
still getting the same annoying error message!
This game worked perfectly fine on my old system?!!
What gives!

Can you lads help out this Canuck from Calgary, Canada?

Thanks

Devon Hill

Hmmm, sounds like a driver problem.  I had the same problem as you a few
months ago.  My problem came from the Gravis Experience drivers I was
using.  It turns out their newer drivers don't like DirexctX8 for some
reason so I had to revert back to their older set.  So if you're using
Gravis products, I'd take a look at that first.  If not, it's probably a
result of some other driver your system is using.

    Hope this helps! :-)

You Good Sir, are a genius!!
Indeed, that did the trick when I eliminated my New Gravis drivers and I am
now enjoying my Grand Prix 3 again!

Again, Thank you from a grateful Canuck!!

        Hi Devon,
Glad to be of help!  But me a genius....I think my ex
fiancee' would have a differing opinion...LOL!!!!  I can't tell you how
long I struggled with that error message until I finally got it ironed
out.  I must've uninstalled directX a half dozen times before I finally
tried the Gravis driver fix.  In any event, enjoy being back out on the
track!  And speaking of being out on the track, I have GPL to get back
to. :-)

        Happy Racing!
