GLEA Lotus V2.0 problem

by Joel A. Willstei » Mon, 17 Feb 2003 11:25:33

I've never had any problem with any of the GPLEA cars, that is until
tonight.  I've always done a manual install without a single problem. I
transfered all the files from the standard Lotus to my Lotus folder, then
fired up gpl. From the***pit view I get about 3/4 of a lap when my
computer crashes back to my desktop and freezes. After rebooting I tried the
Lotus folder with just the lotus.dat file and the new standard files. Same
exact result.  I then tried a new download. Same results both times. As a
last resort I transfered from the original CD the Lotus file with just the
dat file, then the standard files were added. Same result.

Going back to my current GPLEA Lotus, I don't have a problem. The
Cooper loads and works fine.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Asus A7V333
AMD 2000+ XP
Visionteck Xtacy Ti4-4400
onboard soundcard
512 MB of (pc2700)DDR Ram

Thanks,

Make sure the only file in your cars67\lotus folder is the lotus.dat.
Copy the contents of the 'Lotus 49 standard' folder into your cars67\lotus
folder.
Copy the contents of any of the options into your cars67\lotus folder for a
2d helmet etc.

Alternatively use GPLAIM, but it's not really any easier if you've never
used it before. Second and third time you use it, it'll save you alot of
time.

You might also want to find a lotus.cam somewhere, the v2 lotus doesn't have
a custom one.

Turn on Driver Textures in the mirrors. That cured it for me.
