I'm sure you bought NFS without looking on the back of the box to see
what kind of game it was. Get real. NFS is a GREAT sim. It uses lots
of Road & Track's car stats to accurately re-create each car's
performance. And, I don't see any flips or skid-marks in NASCAR OR
Indycar...
ps. There are no pickups or trucks in NFS. What in the world are you
talking about?!?!?

Of course you don't see skid marks or flips in Indy Car or Nascar- THESE
ARE TRUES SIMS!! The only reason you see these things in NEED FOR SPEED is
because thats the whole game-crahing and hitting things Its not a REAL
sim.
I think thats why EA called it "Need for Speed" not "Nascar wannabe".
ICR & NASCAR fill a need, Need for Speed fills another. I enjoy ICR,
but am having a blast racing on city streets, passing, dodging
oncoming traffic, and outrunning cops. I disagree with your statement
"all you can do is enjoy the crash", the crashes are cool (And flips
are there, unlike nascar/icr) I've checked out Nascar, it was not for
me, NFS is a fast paced, fun filled game.
Take care-
Bill
I think he is talking about the traffic in the city/alpine roads, you
know those blue/white chev pickups?
BTW- I agree- its a blast!
Bill
NFS IS a blast....more fun than ICR or NASCAR because of several
reasons:
More realistic scenery
Takes more reflexes and a faster reaction time to play
You're not just going in circles
You're dealing with traffic that is 1/3 and sometimes 1/4 your speed
You're racing in situations and roads not designed for racing
Graphics are faster and smoother than NASCAR/ICR
You have more cars to choose from instead of an "all-in-one" (Nascar
cars NEITHER look like a Pontiac, Chevy or Thunderbird they
supposedly represent)
If you like the demo of NFS, you'll love the game. If you hated the
demo of NFS, don't buy it...end of story, end of argument.
SC
Well, Being that they are two different types of driving sims, I wouldn't compare them.
I have had Nascar for about a half year now, and enjoy it. I just got the demo
for NFS and except for not getting it to work properly with my T1 (the pedal
calibration didn't work right), It is a great DRIVING sim. Reminds me of the old
days with Test Drive, which this seems to be a next generation of.
And I don't know where he bought it, but it goes for less than $55. I'm already
looking to get it and I do recommend it.

I totally agree there! I think its a blast!

Duh.. Did you read the box before you bought the game? Of course it doesn't
have Nascars, and Indycars etc. And it's not supposed to be a sim, it is
more of an arcade game. I bought it and it is well worth the money. It's
very well done. You have to play it having in mind that it's not a perfect
sim and that it's just alot of fun. Which I find it is. Me and a friend
play Nascar all the time and like both of them. Anyway it is a totally
different game compared to Nascar. I think it is nice to have an alternative
to play sometimes. Not everyone likes to fiddle with car settings all the
time. Some people just like to go out and drive, which this game is great
for. Anyway my 2 cents.

BUT when I then let them run NFS they can't get enough. I like
it to, when I just want to relax and not work so damn hard.
By the way, NFS works real nice with a T1 with the adapter
mentioned earlier.
NFS is what TEST DRIVE and CAR AND DRIVER were suppose to be !!!
Mondo
Nascar aims to be a simulator, and achieves that brilliantly
NFS aims to be a fun ddriving game and achieves that brilliantly
Two different products each doing their thing superbly
Really makes me wonder what confuses people so much
