Grand Prix Legends - The drive of your life!
If the demo is anything to go by then what's good about this sim?
EVERTHING!
The car dynamics are amazing!
smooth frame rate at 800/600 even on my P5/233- (old?) Intergraph Intense 100
3D
great sounds in and out of car
unprecidented level of fine control - the steering wheel in the sim matches
exactly the turn radius of my home-made steering wheel
great old-style circuit with a very nostalgic feel to it.
I know, I remember the '67 season
Yeah, I'm that old!
Only one niggle, I remember cars crashing into straw bales, the cars did not
always somersault but tended to crush the bales and move them. The sims bales
are very unforgiving.
The only level to drive is GP. This is very demanding but very satisfying.
So far I've managed 1min 15secs in all three cars despite the fact that they
seem to have, realistically, very different 'feel' from each other.
Now I'm aiming for consistency. i.e. putting more than a handful of laps
together without comming to grief!
As we're given no yardstick as to what a lap took in these cars on this track
it's difficult to know how well you're doing. 1min 15secs over 2.3miles seems
to be pretty good for these cars (average 110.4mph)
Does anyone know different?
ALL IN ALL THIS SIM IS GOING TO BE BRILLIANT

The '67 race at WG was dominated by Lotus.  Graham Hill and Jim Clark were
the only cars on the lead lap at the end.   Hill took pole with a 1:05.480
(126.451mph-203.503km/h), Clark was right beside him.  Hill led the first 40
laps, Clark led the last 68 laps.  Fastest lap of the race was Hill on lap
81 (1:06.000),  Clark won with about a 6 sec. lead.  Wish I'd been there.

Here's a couple numbers to think about while we wait for the full version.

Spa in '67 (which reportedly will be in the sim) took 3:28.100 for Clark to
set pole.

The 'Ring (which I sure hope makes it) took Clark 8:04.100 to set pole on
the 14.189 mile course.

If you want to really get your juices flowing thinking about the 'Ring check
