Thanks Sebastien for the news.
I will look for Rally Masters in Paris, I hope I will find it.
I still don't know which Rally game to choose. RC 2000 or Rally master?
I want the game with the nicest driving model. I want to *feel* the car move
on the road, not slide aboce the road like a magic carpet! :-)
thank you for your help. (merci)

Regards,
Cyrille Vanlerberghe

If you're after a realistic rally game, i'd go for RC2000. Rally Masters is
a lot of fun but the handling is very arcade like. RM also only offers
super-special stages, enjoyable but it wasn't long before I yearned for a
bit of open road and felt the need to play RC2000.

One large critiscm I have about RM is the damn invisible walls, making some
of the circuits a rail-riders paradise...

I don't agree with you when you say that RC2000 is more realistic handling
than RM. I can't feel the grip and car weight in RC2000.IMO.

I have to disagree IMO you get a better feel of weight & contact with the
ground (or lack of if you go to fast!!) with RM

Eh! are you only playing the demo! (actually even that had a rally stage in
it!)

The RM SSS stages are only about 5% of the game, there are a load of timed
stages and also Rally cross tracks

I take it you know you can use the cursor down arrow to select type of stage
you wan't to drive, along with weather and day/night/eve effects

Agreed but only in the SSS stages . In some of the proper rally stages you
can go quite a way off track and weave in and out of the trees more so than
RC2000

Doh! That'll teach me to post my impressions of a game after 5 minutes
playing!

I'm enjoying this game a lot, though I still think that overall RC2000
does a better job of simulating the rally experience. Both games have their
own individual strengths and weaknesses.

My advice to the original poster would be to buy both.

Thank you all for your advices and comments on those rally games. I guess I
will have to buy both games, and see by myself which one I should not have
bought! ;-)
Seriously, I would like to know which one of RM and RC2000 have the best
road tracks (not as wide as the Champs Elysees as in the late Need for Speed
series!) with reasonable amounts of elevation changes and different road
surfaces.
I know I am getting a bit annoying by wanting so much information about
this, but I don't want to spend too much on games at this time!

Cheers,
Cyrille

You want narrow roads, it won't get much narrower then RC2000; otherwise
the car wouldn't fit. Even the widest sections are pretty narrow.
Elevation changes are excellent; a monster rush downhill and trying to
slow down enough is a blast. Reasonable variety in road surfaces.
Weather modelling is fantastic. Can't say about RM.

Go for Rally Masters it is exellent.
In my opinion the cars behave an feel MUCH more realistic than in RC.
Don't judge RM by the demo. Walls is not a problem in the retail version.
Rally Masters online action is awsome.

What I like most in RM is the car handling, but it's more arcadish than RC2k
IMO. It reminded me of CMR a little too much.
What I like most in RC2k are the tracks and the track conditions. (weather
etc...) Long (sometimes very long) existing tracks. But you don't *feel* the
car like you do in RM. In a jump for example in  RM you can have the feeling
that you're going to tumble when you approach it sliding a little sideways,
something I never felt in RC2k.
If I where you I would go for RC2k. The graphics are better but they require
a higher system spec.
