GMSS "FG" GPL League Driver Invitation.

by Ron Ayto » Fri, 12 Jan 2001 08:37:24

Hi guys,

The GMSS Founder's FG division is inviting clean and sensible drivers
to participate in our fun races we will be doing over the next three
weeks.
The "FG" class, for those of you who are not aware, is a new class of
GPL car, combining a F1 chassis with a F3(2.0lR) engine.
These "FG" cars are the most realistic handling sim cars that have ever
been placed into the sim racers hands.
The GMSS used to run F3 (novice trainers) in the F3 division, but we
have now switched to the much improved and closer racing, dicing,
braking etc etc abilities of these "FG" cars.
This class has provided us with ultra close racing, previously un-heard
of in any sim (even in the F3 class) and has to be really  experienced
to be believed.
The GMSS Founder's division has been running the "FG" cars now for over
6 weeks, and the GMSS F3 division has now also switched to the  "FG"
class as well.
The GMSS was the first league to run the F3 (novice trainers) on-line
in a league environment, so we have had plenty of experience with
determining how the "FG" class of cars react & race in comparison to
the standard F3 Novice Trainers and the other low powered combo of the
F2 chassis with the F3 engine..

These "FG" fun races will be run on Thursday evenings at a variety of
tracks, beginning this coming Thursday (Jan 11th)  at 6:00pm Pacific
Standard time and 7:30 PM Pacific Standard time.
The 6:00pm timeslot will feature "FG" races at Mexico, Monaco &
Mosport, and the 7:30pm timeslot will feature "FG" races at Rouen,
Solitude & Zandvoort.
ALL six races will be in PRO Short format and will finish up on January
the 18th..
We meet in the GMSS chat room about 1/2 an hour before each race
begins, to chat and have someone to talk to while we drink our warm
milk and dunk our cookies.

If you feel you are a clean and safe driver (being fast is not a
requisition) and  would like to try this exciting new class of close
racing with other clean, safe (and mostly slow old timers), then come
to the VROC GMSS chat room on Thursday evenings at about 5:45 PM
Pacific and introduce yourself.
We don't password our chat room, so you are welcome to drop in any time
for a chat with the members.

If you find you like the "FG" class of racing, and i can guarantee you
will <G>, then you may want to join us for our next season, but go easy
on us, as most of us in the GMSS are old enough to be  your
grandfathers. <G>

Our new "FG" season will be starting up after we have finished  running
 these six fun (introduction) races..
If you would like more more info, or have any further enquiries,
regarding the goals, plans and ideas of the GMSS and "FG" racing,  you
can contact the Founder of the GMSS, (Larry Linthicum) at:

Or if you just want to browse and learn a bit more about the GMSS,
before committing yourself to too much fun, then the GMSS has a web
site at:
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

There is also a Egroups site at:
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

So, if you want some good clean "FG"  league racing in a friendly
environment, with a lot of old timers (and a few young guns) drop in to
the GMSS chat room on Thursday evenings and introduce yourself.

Regards,
Ron Ayton
