: Surely the "ultimate in realism!" would be to have 2 paddles on the back of the wheel, and a semi-automatic gearbox, where you just flip a paddle, or button, and the gearbox does the rest ?
I haven't ever driven a REAL car that had 2 paddles on the back of the wheel to shift. Now maybe if you drive
REAL F1 cars, then It would be realistic, but how many of us do. A REAL F1 car might as well be a video game
to me, because I will never have anything to compare a computer sim to. However I think it would be
very cool to have a gated shifter, and a clutch to use. That is one thing that frustrates me most, not
being able to select the gear I want, when I want it, I have to go one gear at a time. Unfortunately
a software company will have to come out with a program that will support such a set up, before, or at
least in conjunction with a company like thrustmaster will come out with the hardware.
