Is anyone running a lap 'table' for GP2 with all drivers using
'standard' setups????  I think this would be pretty cool, and probably
more indicative of driver skill, rather than the current setup where
there are too many options..... Thats more a case of 'if you fluke the
right setup, or have too much free time, then your fastest'.  Mind you,
I have the greatest admiration for guys like Gizmo, who spend
unbelievable amounts of time on these sites, all for the love of it, but
I'd really like to see this in a 'supplementary' role..... Any takers???

Sorry, can't agree :(

Set-ups are very much dependent on driving style. The "default" set-ups
will suit some people but be awful for others.

The best F1 drivers are also the best test drivers (Schumacher, Senna,
Prost, Hill, etc). Being able to determine what is wrong with a set-up
and how to correct it are part of what differentiates a great driver from
a merely good one.

Even if you don't understand the theory of setting up a race car (I would
mostly put myself in this category), once you have learned to be
consistent it is pretty easy to tell what is an improvement & what makes
things worse.

But each to his own - there's nothing to stop you from setting up your
own competition ;-)

Cheers,
Richard

You've given me an idea there.  The Dan Prescott Motor Racing
Association (which use GP2) could introduce a similar concept to its
1998 World Cup.  1997 will see the qualifying stages where, if your idea
was introduced, could see teams of drivers winning against their
opponents in this way.  If any would be driver feels he or she is worthy
of competing for their country then E-Mail me at...

Cheers
