our new location. Rick Devente, best known from "The Unofficial", takes a
look at the multiplayer offerings of UbiSoft's newest Formula 1 racing game
F1 Racing Championship:
"Over the past few years we have tried to build online racing communities
racing modern Formula 1 sims like Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation 2 and
F12000, but not with great success. For some reason online capabilities were
not an important factor to the developers of these sims or it simply was due
to lack of knowledge when it comes to the specific characteristics of the
Internet, that the online community never really grew in a big way. We know
that Formula1 sims that hold the official FIA license are not allowed to
support online racing over dedicated servers, but that doesn't mean it
shouldn't work using direct IP connections. Monaco Grand Prix was free of
the FIA restrictions and we could race it using Ubi Soft's Game Service, but
the game was way too unstable online to make it a real success."
Is F1 Racing Championship any better when played online? Check out this

Racing Championship will follow later this week.
Enjoy!
