Sega Rally for PC ?

Anyone know if Sega Rally is being ported to the PC ?  There
seem to be some pretty good game engine that could handle it
(eg Screamer, Whiplash/Fatal racing or NFS engines).
I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that one of
them could be used directly with the appropriate car and
track designs.

Sega are supporting the Diamond Edge 3D accelerator card. They
have already released Virtua Fighter Remix with "other games"
to follow. Don't be surprised if Sega Rally is one of these
"other games". I doubt they'd use someone else's game engine
- they already know how to code their own (from the arcade
and Saturn versions) and it would be an over simplification
to assume that you just need to patch tracks / cars from
one game engine to the next. For instance, Sega Rally appears
to support a true 3D environment, where the car can take off,
pitch and roll.

: Anyone know if Sega Rally is being ported to the PC ?  There

SEGA RALLY is a truly GREAT game!  I love it!  I've only ever played it
in aracades (as opposed to on a SEGA console), and have spent FAR too
much money on it.  It ould be really good if we could get a PC
version.  You get a real feel for the cars as you glide sideways
round the corners, with the sounds of the stones bouncing off the
bottom of the car.

You can get a package from Diamond Multimedia (I think) that uses a PCI card
to plug in Sega gamepads, etc and uses the computers CD-ROM to use Saturn
CD's.  They recommend a Pentium (I have one now :) ).

I saw it advertised here in Oz for $450. Quite good really.

Anyone know any more details?

Ciao

> Actually I don't think it runs actual Saturn games. As I recall, it

only runs special Saturn to Edge conversions.
