I recently bought TOCA Touring Cars. In qualifying at Donnington for a
single (non-championship) race, I'm about 5 seconds slower than pole position.
I seem to be cornering as fast as possible and any attempt to go faster
results in spinning off. Trying to cut corners usually results in
a spin on the grass.
It would be useful if you could select one of the other drivers to
demonstrate a hot lap (as in GP2). This would give some pointers as to
where I'm going wrong.

Any tips from experienced drivers on good techniques, particularly
cornering and fast starts ?

R:

I always felt you can't win the qualifying session. The best you can get
is a little bit better than mid pack. I believe they do this for a fun
factor so you daon't start in front and lead the whole race. At least
your gonna have to pass a few racers and possibly get bumped off along
the way to make things challanging.

Well, there is no trick. It's simply a bug that during qualify other cars go
that much faster.

Yes I've noticed this even on 'hard' level. I won at Donnington by 2 minutes.
Possibly they pitched the difficulty level too low (I don't consider myself an
expert driver) my best at Donnington is 1.28 but I've seen times far better
than this.
