Can any one help?

I have a K6-233 (don't laugh please), 64mb, win95, mystique 220 with
creative labs voodoo2, yamaha opl3sa sound card directx 6.1, latest
drivers for all cards etc.  I haven't had any of the problems others
have listed concerning directx 6.1 and the new glide 2.54 driver
locking up my system.

I have just bought a Gravis Xterminator gamepad hoping specifically to
use with GPL to replace my pile of junk PCSprintpad which made driving
the car damn difficult.  Installing the gravis software was a breeze
and the joystick appears to function fine in Fifa 99 and other games
except for Colin Mcrae where I get the blue screen of death just
before the menu should start and in GPL where the game locks up at the
title screen.  Removing Xterminator from the joystick properties lets
the game start again but this kinda defeats the purpose of buying the
Xterminator.  I have tried all sorts of ideas - reinstalling the game,
going back to directx 5 & 6, changing which glide driver I use, going
back to voodoo reference drivers instead of the creative labs ones,
updating the sound card drivers, looking on the microsoft website for
help concerning the gameport.

I have emailed gravis several times for advice but they don't know
what to do - likewise the good people at Sierra haven't been able to
help so far either.

Anybody got any ideas?

Your gamepad woes should come to an end when the GPL 1.1 patch is
released. I saw a post a while back on Sierra's message boards a while
back from one of the Papy guys that explained it. I still cant see how
anyone could use GPL well with a gamepad though:)
