Anyone played Viper Racing. What type of racer is it, sim or pure arcade
and is it any good.

Cheers,
Mike

Viper Racing is more towards sim then arcade.
The "meat" of Viper Racing is the way you have to start from the bottom of
each class and start earning money to buy upgrades for your car.
Not so much garage tweaking as in GPL/Nascar etc. Just slap those new tires on
the car and drive faster! There _are_ adjustments to do, but only later on
when you get the gearbox with interchangable gears, adjustable spoilers,
adjustable wheel setups etc.
In the beginning you just get "simple" upgrades such as lower final drive,
close gear gearbox etc. And don't underestimate those weight reduction kits.
There is a reason why they are so expensive!

And I don't know the price of this thing in the UK, but in Sweden it sold for
half the price of other games.

Get it!!!

It is a sim, with very realistic handling, although it's not as
"over-the-top" as "Gran Prix Legends".
You have three levels of handling: arcade, intermediate and simulation.  The
career mode is excellent.  The closest thing I've seen to Gran Turismo on
the PC.
Everything in this game is top notch; the tracks have the best designs I've
ever seen.
Simply put, it's the best racing game I've ever played.
(I have both F1RS and MGPRS2, which are both outstanding sims, but just
aren't as FUN!)

Agree 110%! :) The most fun I've had racing in a long time. (I just wish the
force feedback effects were better with my Logitech Wingman wheel)

It's a top-notch racer that kinda rides the fence between sim and arcade. It
works for me. I probably played it more than any other racer last year. I
think you can get it for $29 plus a $10 rebate from Sierra. And it'd be a
steal at $19.
