Man, I've never had this much fun playing any racing game, including N1-N3,
ICR1&2, NFS1-5, NH, and GPL.  I usually am way ahead or behind of everyone
else, or crashing. (In GPL just crashing). But I was just now racing at
Lowe's, 95% opponent strength. Qualify 1st, but lose about 3 or 4 positions
early. A few laps later, I take a turn too hard, and Tony Stewart and Bobby
Labonte team up and slip by under me. I follow for a few more laps, then
make a move, and pass em both going into the last turn, making it by Stewart
by inches, but then brush the wall, and Stewart slips by me, but I block
Labonte. I follow till near the end of the race, and with about 3 laps left
the leader comes close to a lapped car, and I start trying to pass Stewart.
I get by him once, but again brush the wall, and he comes back under me, but
so does Labonte. Ahh! I quickly floor it, and go side by side with Labonte
for a whole lap, and bump into him once or twice, but keep the car from
spinning. I pass him. White flag! I go after Stewart again, side by side
heading for the final turn of the race. I slam the pedal to the floor, and
my right side bumps into him, he slides up a few inches, then we both head
toward the finish line, bump again, and go spinning! I get turned around,
but in FRONT of Stewart, sliding backwards towards the finish with Stewarts
nose on my nose. As we slide to the finish, Labonte gets by us, but cross
the line before Gordon and Earnhardt can pass us. So I keep my position
while Tony and Bobby switched place. Phew. That was really really damn fun.

<snip>

LOL, sounds like a good race :)
Couple of days ago I bought a new gfx card, and after spending a
couple of days tweaking the card I played N4 yesterday for the first
time with a decent fps.
And just like in GPL, what a difference a decent fps makes!!

GPL fanatic as I am, I chose Sears Point instead of one of those oval
tracks (what a shame that Nascar only uses two road tracks :(
Driving these cars is completely different than '67 F1 cars, but good
fun in their own way. I miss the sensation of speed which I have in
GPL, but the racing itself is fantastic! Drafting and bumping with 42
cars.. yummie.

I do have a major problem though with the AI. Especially at ovals, it
happens so often that I want to pass a car on the inside, and when I'm
about to pass them they go low all of a sudden, causing me to spin.
Vice versa, it also often happens that I get hit by an AI car on the
inside, while the spotter didn't tell me that there was a car on the
inside!

Well.. maybe it isn't the AI, maybe I have to learn how to drive in
Nascar style.. when GPL came out I hardly knew a thing about racing
behaviour, and maybe the same now goes for Nascar...

Watch out world, Andre goes Nascar..
