Is it mostly muscle cars, or are there sports cars too?  Just street
racing, no closed course racing?

This was, without a doubt, the MOST annoying download I've ever done.

I finally noticed the direct download link to ea.com, and used it instead.

First, you have to create an 'account' on Gamespy just to get the link to
work.  THEN, FilePlanet wants you to set up ANOTHER account to get it from
their 'personal servers'.

What a bunch of shit.  All this data collection ***is really starting to
annoy me.

Of course, the information I always provide is, well, interesting...

FilePlanet has public as well as private servers (where they ask you to pay
a monthly fee for shorter response time and higher DL bandwidth... no thanks
<g>). Look at the download page a little more carefully as they're not easy
to spot (they're in between the mirror sites). I've never had to provide
personal information in order to download at FilePlanet. I like their
download queue system, actually. Fire and forget downloading... works for
me.

Yeah, looks like they use the "RealAudio" method of hiding the free stuff
amongst the paid stuff.

RealAudio has that down to a science :)

I hear ya... 6 times during installation of the "Free Player" you need to
uncheck "send me blah-blah" checkboxes in order to save yourself from being
spammed to oblivion. That's *real* bad... <g>

I haven't upgraded my GameSpy yet, have been trying out "All Seeing Eye".
