Nascar Revolution SE

When Nascar Revolution came out, I tried it for about an hour, and
found it the most worst race sim I ever played.
Especially the slomo problem was terrible.

I didn't have high hopes when I read that Nascar Revolution SE would
come out.
But yesterday I tried it.... and... I like it! I'm not a big Nascar
fan, and I'm not enough into this sport to be able to judge a nascar
sim properly, but simply put: Nascar Rev SE gave me more thrills than
Nascar 3.
Some simple reasons: The force feedback of NRSE is quite good, you
constantly feel the tremble of the motor, and the sound is superb with
my SBLive card. When driving close to a wall the sound changes
superbly. And the screaming tyre sounds are the best I've ever heard
in a computer sim.

First I drove on the standard arcade mode, which was very good fun.
When I changed the settings to 'realistic', I couldn't keep the car on
the track. I can't imagine that driving a real Nascar car would be SO
difficult, so I don't think that this realistic mode is very good.
But as I said, I don't know much about Nascar, so i can't judge this
properly.

All I'm saying is that NRSE is completely different than the original
NR indeed, as some other persons allready said.
I think it deserves a new chance, and I'm very curious what you Nascar
fans think about it.

Be serious dude, Nascar Revolution SE is a piece of shit.  From the
horrendous late draw-in to the horrible engine sounds, this arcade
game is a complete joke.

Ok, that's one opinion :)

To be honest, I didn't notice any draw-in at all, I have to play it
again to see if there is any draw-in. The engine sounds are not that
bad imho. The tire sounds are wonderfull when spinning the car,
especially when surrounded by other cars and the wall, with my Sblive
card it really sounds superb.

I was wondering what people will think of the gameplay of SE, I can't
judge that properly because of my lack of Nascar knowledge.
But the sounds and visuals are imho superb, much better than Nascar 3.

Well, I only played the demo (which I found fun), but from
what I've heard I can't IMAGINE the logic behind the computer taking
over your car during a yellow flag!  Or when going down pit road.  I
wouldn't mind a little SPEED help, but taking the car over entirely?!
I'm gonna try to get it used (wouldn't pay more than $15 for
it) just so I'll KNOW, but N3 is SO good... [IMO]  I liked the
bouncing chassis, now that I have a FF wheel I'm looking forward to
that... I'd like to see the change of day to night...
I gotta wonder about how well rules are duplicated:
double-file restarts? Passing on the outside when the green flag
falls? Yellow flag length?

I with you Andre. It's fun to get out there and just race. Althought this
newsgroup has the word "simulator" in it, which NRSE is not IMHO, sometimes
we need to remember that these are just computer games and games should be
fun and not so serious.

I loaded Nascar Revolution LE on my 366 128mb TNT2 and it locks up right
after it says something about getting the keys.  Same for the Obsidian
Voodoo2 card.  Have to reset to get out.  Any ideas?

Thanks

tried nascar rev 103, wow, like it much better than n3, p2 300 tnt,
full graphics max cars racing, not even a stutter out of the game, too
much fun. oh yeah i was down loading files with my ftp at the same
time i was playing. this game is a lot easier on the computer with the
new patch.

This is why you think the game is so good, you don't even know what to
look for.  Play Talladega, look ahead and you'll see this draw-in.

You're high.

Once again, you're high.  You must be 10 years old.

If the game was good, I'd play it regardless if it was simulation or
an arcade game.  But with as good as other EA Sports titles are, this
game shows little effort by the programmers.

When I don't notice any draw-in, and I have to look for it to notice
it, it can't be that bad right?

Ofcourse, I'm Dutch.

Comments like these say more about your intelligence than about mine.

Kind of like the "Quake" of Racing?  Quake's a BLAST for
stress relief.
I liked the demo, but the reviews here kept me away from the
full game - even when Future Shop had it for $17.

Thats cause the guy who complained about it is one of those "sim
fanatics" and if the GAME isn't sim enough for him, then everything
about it is trash.

And I agree with you, the sounds are not bad at all like he says.  I
myself like Nascar 3 AND I like Nascar Revolution.  Any true racing fan
would like both types of games.
