ICR2: Internet Carsets possible with rendition version??

by Diab » Tue, 08 Apr 1997 04:00:00

Hi, i wanted to know if its possible to use carsets from the internet
with the rendition version of ICR2...So far I tried a 1995 and a 1997
carset and it didnt work, icr2 says they are not valid carsets...

Is there something special to do to make em work?

thanks for any help

They work just fine.  They have to be in a directory that matches the .dat
file.  IE cars97.dat has to be im a directory called cars97 under the cars
directory.  Nothing special just like Nascar 1 and the cars directory with
that game.

It sounds as if you are not installing them correctly.  As far as I know
the only "glitches" with carsets and the rendition version is with
"helmet swapping" during the replays.

Make sure that the directory name matches the *.dat file name (without
the extension) and that you have a valid drivers.txt or drivers2.txt
file in the directory.

The carsets are interchangable between the original ICR2 and the Rendition
version. If the carset is named "cars97.dat", make sure you create a
directory called "c:\icr2\cars\cars97", and copy all the carset files into
that directory.  The carset name and the directory name need to match.
