I saw Psygnosis F1'97 PC version on sale here in Europe. Any comments?
Much improved from the first F1 title by Psygnosis? Any value as a
sim? Demo available?

(Who am I kidding anyway? I already have F1RS. Just curious, I guess.)

All I can say is that it's Psy's F1 game improved but still 2 words:

Arcade game.

Don't forget where it's roots are - a game console.  Personally
I find it good fun as a game - I cannot put the time/practice/set up
testing required by GP2, but can be "competitve" in F1 97
fairly quickly.  So, as I game for fun, rather than pretending
to be Michael Schumacher for a weekend, it suits my "style".
It looks good, it feels good, I like it.

p.s. I have the Playstation version.

Yes, no, no, not yet.

More specifically, it is even less fun to drive than the first game.
now needing to be driven like an Outlaw in order to get a half decent
lap time. The menu structure is slightly improved (although still
_very_ heavily Playstation influenced), but it's a "while away an
afternoon" thing, without offering even short term fun.

In this case curiosity could well kill the sim-fan's wallet. If you
want an arcader hold out for a demo and give it a whirl (TOCA and
F1RS-arcade mode are both better though) but it's not for the sim
fans.

Cheers!
