Nascar2 init strings same as Nascar, but doesn't work

I have a Boca 28.8 and I used Boca 14.4 (14.4) setting in Nascar Racing Multiplayer with no problem.  In Nascar2, the initialization string is the same as the one in Nascar Raacing but won't initialize the modem.  What gives?  The modem works in everything else, including Nascar Racing.  Anybody wanna take a shot?
