Back in the days of N1, Down Wilshe ran a site called IVGA, and to make
a long story short, they ran a fast lap competition using their own
software, which you had to run in the background, to validate the laps
people submitted
The controversy started when people discovered that this software
actually could read the setup and check it for legality, and from there
on it's a tad blurry as to whether or not Don actually had access to
those setups when the lap was submitted, either way this wasn't
perfectly clear in the readme.....
Let's put it like this, even if Don *did* have access to them, he never
put them to much good use as he was slow as hell :-)
