If Santa just happens to bring me a GeForce4, will GPL still be happy?

If Santa just happens to bring me a GeForce4, will GPL still be happy?

I am currently using a GeForce2 GTS and all my sims now run perfectly (but
drivers have been a long-standing issue with GPL).  I seem to recall reading
about problems under GPL with the 4's when they first came out.  Anything I
should watch out for?  XP Pro.

Thanks,

Marc

Can't speak for XP since I'm still churning along with 98SE, but GPL looks
absolutely marvy on my Ti 4400.  I'm using the 41.09 Nvidia drivers, patched
Papy OpenGL driver, running at 12X10 with 4X AA and 8X AF.  No problems at
all, and from the rear of the grid, I'm locked on 36fps within a few feet of
the starting line at any track.  If memory serves, 4XS AA gave some menu
problems in D3D with older drivers, but that's about it.

Enjoy!

Nope ;-)

I went from a Kyro2 to a 4200 128Mb a few months ago. I had heaps of
problems getting the kyro to work so my settings were all non-standard, but
the 4200 just plain worked. I use OpenGL now since it works faultlessly
whereas D3D still had font problems, just like every other card I've owned.

Plus it's literally twice as fast, you really can't go wrong with a 'proper'
(ie non MX) gf4.

If Santa brings you a GeForce 4 you'll be a very happy man indeed. GPL just
looks fab at 1600x1200 quincunx FSAA and 4 Anisotropy. As long as you've got
decent CPU it'll never go below 36fps at max detail.

Currently I'm running the 41.09 drivers on my WinXP Pro system with no
problems at all.

Thanks...I run at 1600 x 1200 now, but without FSAA.  We'll see..........:)
