Not sure if this is a known tweak but I was playing around with the
'config.ini' file in my F1 2000 directory and found an option called
'WindowedMode'. This was set to '0' so I changed it to '1' and fired up
F12K. The sim interface appeared in a window approximately 75% of my screen
size but when I went to a test or race session the full screen was taken up
apart from the window name bar at the very top of the screen. However, the
sim actually showed a significant improvement in it's smoothness in
comparison to what it had been before, even with the mirrors on.
Unfortunately I can't give you an actual numerical fps improvement as FRAPS
doesn't seem to work in this mode but it was definately much faster.
Just thought some of you may like to give it a try. Here is my config.ini
file:-
[Components]
SeasonDir="Season00"
SoundDir="Sounds"
OptionsDir="Options"
MovieDir="D:\Data\Anim"
ReplayDir="Replay"
TracksDir=""
VehiclesDir=""
MusicDir=""
SystemRating=5
WindowedMode=1
VideoDriver="Direct3D Primary"
UseA3D=0
UseEAX=0
[Install]
InstallFrom="D:"
InstallTo="C:\Motorsims\EA SPORTS\F1 2000"
[Version]
Version=1.0
Strangely, the version number which appears in the top right corner of the
game interface screens shows version 1.04 not 1.0 as it shows in this file.
Hope this helps some of you out there.
