Well, I think it was a relatively poor turnout for a track that seems
to be pretty popular.  Thir*** people showed up, and only 12 stuck
around for the race (hey Steve, why'd you leave before the race
started?).

Only two cautions over 160 laps - not bad at all - and we even had a
round of green-flag pitstops.

Colin Harris was the winner, and he dominated the event with 105 laps
led.

A special note to the new guys (and specifically to the guy in #12):

If you're off the pace, do NOT try to get out of the way by moving to
the apron. That is a patentedly bad move especially if you're
approaching a turn. You will invariably wash up the track and into
the guy that's passing you.  Maintain your line and your speed, OR
move high. The most important thing is that you maintain control of
your own car.  Use your auto chat to tell approaching drivers to pass
you on the appropriate side.

Finally, after you smacked the wall, you inadvertantly took out a
driver by backing down the banking towards the apron.  Why didn't you
pull forward or just sit there until everyone went by you?

Sorry John... like I said, things just got on top of me. I'll be there for
the next one for sure. Might even bring along a rookie.

I don't recall moving to the apron on purpose, I was lapped many times over
during the race and I will always move to the top of the track if I am able.
I would have to watch the replay again as I do not recall what you are
referring to, however, rest asssured, it was NOT on purpose.

I did try and wait for an opening in traffic, I was in the driving line and
feeling a little desparate.  During the race, it looked to me that I was
much closer to the wall than I was. My fault all the way and I am sorry.

It may have been me he was thinking about, however I was passing at the
time, tried to follow a car down low for a pass and screwed up and got my lf
on the apron, started washing up and touched the car up high, ruining his
race :(.

I know I passed you a few times and you indeed stayed high and out of the
way - frankly my hat is off to you for*** in there for the whole race
:).
Lowe's is a fun track to run on, but that apron is a killer with that setup.

I'd already planned to sit out a couple of races.  Surprised that the turnout
was so low, though.
I probably won't show up until Pocono - maybe I'll have some good karma by
then...<g>

Actually, last year's race only had 11 drivers in it, so I guess the
attendance trend for the memorial day event is on the upswing. :)

I haven't been able to make a number races early in the season due to
something I've been working on on Saturdays, but plan on making most of the
races for the rest of the season. Only missed one or two all last season so
I'm anxious to get back to racing.

Holiday weekend in the US probably the culprit. I would have loved to race,
but I was out of town.
