Number 9 Imagine 128/2 any good?

by E.D.O. Nijmeije » Tue, 11 Feb 1997 04:00:00

Hi,

I currently might have the opportunity to get the Number Nine Imagine
128 series II card (4Mb VRAM) for a good price.
It's not one of the most popular cards, judging by the number of
references in this group and on the WWW. But it _is_ very fast and well
featured.

I'm looking for anyone who has experiences with this card for DOS games
and general operations. Windows acceleration will be fine, but it's
my occasional game of GP2 I'm worried about... (some Cirrus chip handles
normal VGA ops...)
How does is compare to other cards. Is the 3d support any good for
games? Is the cirrus chip bypassed when using UniVBE?

All comments welcomed!

Thanks,

Edo
