I tried riding my touring bike in Florida the first summer when I
moved there and it scared the ***out of me. Bike's hung in the
garage ever since. Half of 'em think you're supposed to be on the
sidewalk like a pedestrian and the other half just don't like
bicyclists. Doesn't help either that 90% of the cyclists think you're
supposed to either ride on the sidewalk or opposing traffic like a
pedestrian.
The weather is gradually warming here in Seabrook, TX and I'm about
ready to prep the old Univega for some riding. I think it *may* be
safer here...

For the most part a car will simply run you down without even thinking about
it.
A very different enviroment for a Frenchman I'm afraid. Bob was always a
favorite of mine.

On one ride to the beach I actually saw three (3!) accidents involving those
nice folks on three street crossings within 4 or 5 miles.... scary! ;)
