I did an uninstal/reinstall and now it doesn't get nearly as far and
gives me this error message:

Any ideas here?

Do you have the minimum system specs for the game?  do other games play OK?
For example what other games (no Solitaire doesn't count, I mean games that
use 3D video, like 1st person shooters or other simulator/racing games?   I
have DTR2 on a machine that also has NR2003 and dx9?  everything seems to
run fine, what Im wondering is if you have all the updated drivers for the
vid card,  This one is a GF4200, what is yours? or if it is one of those
bargain/Wal-Mart  HP-  PC's with built in Video on the motherboard?
