No. He's serious.

but..

you weren't, were you?

I read somewhere that when the license that MP has expired, they would be
forced to pull any remaining boxes from the shelves. Anybody back me up on
that?

I remember reading a lot, some time ago, about the license of GP2
being expired. Funny thing is, though: GP2 is in the bargain bins here
a lot, even advertized. Goes for something like $10.- If I didn't have
it already, I would buy it now. :)

Apart from that, I'm pretty sure that downloading the game from the
net would still be piracy, even if it wasn't available in stores
anymore. If a program isn't sold anymore, it doesn't automatically
become public domain.

This was the case but I think that when MP approached the FIA for a license for
GP3 they also got a license for GP2 (budget) which is why it reappeared in a new

box just before christmas (at least here in the UK)

I believe somebody already posted that GP3 has a 1996 season license
(just like F1RS).

Oh, yeah.  Licenses are for, what, 75 years?

Developer Rights don't end at the end of publication...

OK, do you guys mean that I got screwed over real good when I bought Grand Prix
2 from 4cds.com today?  I thought that it must still be available from their
website cause the price changed in the past week and my friend said that he's
seen it in stores recently in New York...

GP2 is a _great_ game.  You didn't get screwed unless you paid $100 for
it :)

I dont know what this is like in the US or Europe but in Australia gp2 is on
budget release and available all over the place? Honestly I got the 99
carset and 98 track pack and nothing comes close to it! For a game release
in 95 this is saying something!

4CDS no longer has it in stock, try R&G Games at 1-800-525-4263.
