No, they are specally made for Logitech, so you have to get them throug
them.
I've asked them before if it was possible to buy a small lot of these pot's
and I've just sendt them a new email today.

As suggested in another post - you'd have to ask Logi.
Gameport wheels were easy - you could buy a better rate
pot from your electronics store, and just recalibrate in
the game... I think with the extra electronics in the usb
and serial wheels there is little hope of that.
I'm just surprised you would need a new pot after only
one year - unless the wheel was in a very bad environment
or was abused. I have a 5yo original formula force and it
has only ever needed a light spray with contact cleaner
every 12 months. And it gets a lot of use.
Maybe get your friend to try cleaning it first - dust and grime
can cause bad readings and jumps as bad as a dead pot.
Perhaps this is just another in the un-ending cycle of new
stuff never being as tough as old stuff. (drive a Datsun and
you'll see what I mean).

I think there is some hope. I know other people have replaced the steering
pot on the momo, and I use MS Pedals on my momo wheel. They do not output
the exact same range as the momo pedals, but the wheel seems to calibrate
automatically. I have no idea how it's able to do that though.
The steering pot is probably easier to replace than the pedal pots, because
it's a common rotation angle, and you calibrate it in the profiler. The
pedals use a pot with very narrow rotation angle, and the wheel might not be
able to autocalibrate if you put in a pot with a wider rotation angle.

I wish I new who these other people are and how what they came up with. A
quick look at the FAQ on the Logi site says that replacement parts,
including potentiometers, are not available separately. Of course, they'll
still service it if it's not under warranty, but it costs more than buying a
new wheel. For those who have broken wires and want to know how to reconnect
them, the site says they can't give out that information as it's a 'trade
secret'.
I thought someone on here, bragging about Logi service, mentioned a forum on
their site. I looked, but couldn't fine one. Is there a Logi wheel forum
somewhere that anyone knows about?

Scratch that $69 Momo I was going to buy...
I think I'll take the new Momo (Leather) that's been new-in-the-box for a
year now and use it until it breaks, then toss it away and buy a new MSFFW.
Or I'll buy a new MSFFW when the next rebate comes along. They have already
dropped in price to $99 retail.
My current MSFFW is just starting to get a little rough around the edges
after several years of hard use, but it still has a lot of life left in it.

Hi guys, I originated the thread on the Wingman bulletin board about
replacement pots for the Momo, I never did follow up, as my pedal pot has
been fine since doing a little cleaning, but some of you may be interested
in this website, http://www.ctscorp.com/electro/295pot.htm it's of a
technical spec for a pot that looks exactly like the pedal pot, same
dimensions, shape, terminals, etc. I never did investigate the possibility
of obtaining any as, well, I'm lazy. BUT, if anyone does feel inclined to
purchase a quantity, I'd guarantee the sale of at least 2 for me. I've never
seen the steering pot, but if it was the same, I'd buy 3.
Ed
It is a special version of that pot. It's slightly different mechanically,
and it has an effective rotation angle of only 30 degrees, not 50 like the
standard pot.
The steering pot is a special version of this one:
http://www.ctscorp.com/electro/251pot.htm
290 degree effective rotation. The standard ones range from 38 to 110
degrees.
The 295 standard pot could perhaps be used. It depends how well the wheel
will autocalibrate that axis, and if you can calibrate ingame if you don't
get a full range from the pot.
But, hang on. I think we will have replacement pot's in a short while.
Jone.
On what are you baseing the assumption that we will have replacement pots
shortly. Do you have some info on this from Logitech?

Logitech isn't supporting it's customers. IMHO that means that they don't
deserve my money.
