There aren't any instructions which tell me how in the manual. I tried on my
own but the car ended up turning grey as if I was starting over completely.

2) Select your car (should already be selected by default).
3) At the top right of the screen, you'll see driver name 9forst and
last), car number, sponsor, and team. Just change the name fields.
4) Exit the opponent manager, and select YES when it asks if you want to
save the new driver info.

You sound as though you assume I know how to do this... which is mistaken.
Run that by me again, slowly and include how I may acchieve this feat this
time.
Thanks,
Jan.

Won't this leave us with two Jan Verschuerens or DGF's in an offline race
(one in the #83 Papyrus car and one in the #17 DeWalt Ford, for example)? I
don't see a "save as" feature....
Jan.

Jan,
Did you catch John post or should I repeat it?
I noticed that you have not submitted any cars for our rooster, so this is
what I suggest you do: (copy and paste from Johns post +)
1) Go into Opponent Manager
2) from the list on the left - select the car/paintjob you've been using
sofar.
3) Once chosen - hit "paintshop" at the bottom of the screen
4) Once in paint shop - export paintjob for car and crew - save using
different file-names
5) Return to opponet manager (Dont save changes)
6) On the righthand side of the picture - select new driver
7) For file name use a system that's simeple to understand: I.E.
'00_John_Doe' - choose correct chassis for your paint job.
8) At the top right of the screen, you'll see driver name (first and last),
car number, sponsor, and team. Fill in the blanks...
9) Hit the paintshop again..
10) Now import the paintjobs you just exported for both car and crew...
11) Exit Paintshop - Choose save upon exit...
12) Exit the opponent manager, and select YES when it asks if you want to
save the new driver info.
13) Goto the drive information screen and choose your new car-file for both
singleplayer and multiplayer races... Save changes.
Thats about it...
Let me know if you need more help.

Well, it's a BAD idea just to change one of the original files (in fact,
it's bad form to do so). If you want to use a stock paint job, do this
(using Jan and his selected #17 car number):
1) Go into Opponent Manager.
2) Select the desired stock paintjob (cup driver or whatever).
3) Go into the in-game paintshop.
3) Export the paintjob (and the pitcrew). Name the exported files
something appropriate (and easy to remember).
4) Exit the paintshop.
5) Create a NEW car (click "NEW" in the menu near the top of the
screen).
6) Fill in the driver name, car number, and sponsor fields.
7) It will ask for a car file name, and a car make. Give it the name
"17_j_versch" (remember this is an example for Jan, so put your own
stuff here). The name can't be very long, so I shortend your last name.
DO NOT ADD THE ".CUP.CAR" extension to the name - the game will do this
for you. Notice that it's now easy to find and identify your car file
by it's name. Don't forget to click the appropriate car make too. For
the #17 car, you should select Ford.
8) Go back into paintshop.
9) Import the paintjob and pitcrew you exported earlier.
10) Exit the paintshop (it will ask you if you want to save the new
stuff - select "YES").
11) Exit the opponent manager (it will ask you if you want to save the
new stuff - select "YES").
You're done.

I.e., 17_m_kenseth.cup.cup to 17_j_doe.cup.car
You can always just get the actual car back from your cd if desired.
-John
Just an example.. if I choose to delete the original carset - I wont be
seeing "your" car either.
