>At Talladega, the "dogleg" (turn 3), is the "tough" turn.
In the sim it is. At the real Talladega, the tri-oval (or dogleg) is nowhere
near that tight, which has been one of my pet peeves with Papyrus. It is the
one thing that I would most like to see changed in NASCAR racing. BTW, in
correct NASCAR terminology, this "turn" is not considered a turn. The turns
at the south end of the track (leaving the front straight and exiting onto the
backstretch) are considered turns 1 & 2, while the turns at the north end
(leaving the backstretch to exiting onto the front straight) are considered
turns 3 & 4. The dog-leg is commonly called the tri-oval, since it's the
section of the track that makes it a tri-oval.
That would actually be turn 3, and don't even try to compare the Sega version
to anything in reality. It just simply doesn't compare, although, it would
make sense that turn 3 would be a tougher turn because it has a tighter
entrance.
I think Jed has changed the grip a bit, but as far as the configuration of the
track, I don't believe he has the means to do that. I'm also not sure if he's
found out how to move the start-finish line. Unlike Talladega, the
start-finish line at Daytona lies right in the middle of the tri-oval.
