What exactly is your problem?  You need a net card in each machine.  I
like the 10BaseT cards (The cable looks like big phone cord).  If you
use 10BaseT, you also need a hub.  You hook a cable from each
computer's net card to the hub, then in Win95 you install the
Microsoft IPX/SPX protocol and bind it to your network card in the
network control panel (If you do this you MUST run through Win95).
You could also just install a DOS IPX driver like IPX.COM and run
through DOS.  Then just run the program and you should all connect.

well i have win95 and would love to know how to get more than one person
besides my self hooked up together through ipx. we would all be in the
same area and not using the internet in any way. so far i know, you can
only hook 2 people together through the phone lines/modem/and ipx/all
win95.
please let me know if theres a way.

One last question, what OS are you running?  DOS/Win3.x requires a
different software configuration than Win95, so which will it be?
They really is not much to the software and Win95 has everything you
will need.

Regardless of the OS you use, you need to setup the physical
connections.  Will all the PC's be in the same area or will you
connect to them over the Internet?  If its the Internet, then check
out www.kali.com.  Otherwise you will need to connect the PCs via
either 10BaseT or 10Base2 Ethernet.  The difference between the two
will probably be $300.

Fill in the blanks here and we can get this up and racing!!!

To get 3 to 8 people networked, each machine will need a Network Interface
Card (NIC) $30+. You will also need a  Hub (8 port $100 +-), and all NIC's
get plugged into the Hub. Win95 has some nice built in networking features,
so study up on those.

Agreed, except for the hub part.  I don't know the max you can have, but
I was hooked into a 3 'puter network here at the house using COAX.  Just
daisy-chained them and all was well.  After I figured out that the IPX
network address had to be the same, N2 worked fine.

Readup on Win95 networking features?  Man, I tried that, but couldn't
find any in the Resource kit.  Gave up and winged it.  All is well.
