Does anyone know if there is a utility to allow you not to put the CD in
the drive each time you play, I use one for gp2 that saves having to
messabout with the Cd.
Thanks

I did a complete install of N2 on my hard drive and I run it without the
CD
in the drive and didn't need any utility. In the N2.BAT startup file
there
is a command that looks for an introduction file on the CD and if the CD
is not there then it will come up with a fatal error. But you can just
hit
F and then it goes ahead and runs N2. The intro file is just a video clip
of some racing and has nothing to do with game play. If you want to
bypass all of that just type NASCAR2 at the DOS prompt and the game
will start right up.

You do need the CD for answering a multiplayer call, though!
Is there a utility to fix that is the question.

Russell,
You don't need the cd to run the game, instead of starting
with instead of running n2.bat run nascar2.exe. or instead of running
n2rend.bat run nasrend.exe.
Hope that helps,
