Incident scoring- a democratic approach

Hi All:

Just got done reading a few posts here regarding the new points scoring
rules on Hawaii.  I honestly can't find a clue as to how it is right for
the more skilled driver to suffer more during an incident.  Ed, if you
can hear me, are you a bleeding heart?  This welfare system that was
installed on Hawaii is about as fair as our current U.S. welfare system.
It's nothing more than "transfer payments" of points from richer to
poorer.  The "richer" drivers are taxed more BECAUSE they have more
points-no other reason.  Kinda sounds like the U.S. tax system, huh? Ed,
at least give everybody a chance to vote on this non-software
development issue.  Therefore, when it takes it's toll on those of us
who are willing to go out and work hard, we have no one to blame but
ourselves.
Please folks, don't take me as one of those "Ed bashers" because
that's not my purpose here.  In fact I have a great deal of repect for
Ed and the team for bringing to my CPU the most fun I've ever had with
my pants on.  I will never take it for granted, Thank you, Thank you,
Thank you.  However, Ed, you have taken the reponsibility of a
leadership position.  A Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggggggggg one it is.  I
don't know what your leadership qualifications or experiences are, so I
won't give a big lecture. Here is something for you to consider: If you
think you take a lot of heat now, wait until cash winnings become a
reality :)  Jump in, be totally available to everyone with a valid
point, get your hands dirty.  Don't use kill files to shut people out
because they don't share your point of view, stand up to these guys!  If
somebody puts you down (with respect), come back and take a stand! A
good politician isn't timid, and fights flames with flames.

With all due respect,

Since when is Ed a politiction??? Hey, rules are rules and if Papyrus says
the points go up just live with it. YOu think when Nascar is running the
NRL that they are going to ask for a VOTE?? Yeah right.

I think that you're missing a key position with this new scoring system: The
'Degaheads will be punished the most, especially all of those 10+ rated drivers.
Over the last month most of the better drivers are only racing in closed league
races. You must also remember that this scoring system is only a prelude to the NRL
scoring system, where drivers will be rated on individual tracks as well as an
overall rating.
