living in a 3rd world country.

it has its ups and downs.

It must be said though, that it is frightfully convenient to be able
to watch the Monaco GP after lunch and then catch the Indy 500 after
supper and still get to bed before 11pm.
(apologies to the Aussies and Yanks)

Oh well.  It was also very inconvenient getting my MS FF Wheel Sunday
at noon.  With all the autoracing on the box I didn't get much playing
time in.

I spent a frustrating half hour spinning the car at monza.  after
playing GPL with a joypad for sooo long, I had no idea how hard analog
throttle and braking can be to learn.

For the Aussies r.a.s'ers out there :
Congrats to the Brumbies.
The Stormers will be back...

The 60's are over Mikkel, welcome to 2001 with computer-controlled
cars :(
If you want to see some good racing, order some historical racing
videos from Duke.
(allthough I must admit that we saw a couple of excellent races this
year, Brazil and Sepang were great imho, and I also enjoyed Monaco
yesterday, I was laughing 46 laps long with poor David stuck behind
Bernoldi :)))

There's the difference between real life and online. Who among us would have
been patient enough to wait that amount of time in an online race?

When the leaders came up, he had the right idea...sneek in behind
them,,,he just wasn't agressive enough tucking in to follow the
leader...Have somebody tape a few Nascar Races at Bristol or Martinsville to
see how to pass inside on a narrow groove...errr maybe not....F1 cars still
don't have fenders do they???

I could if I had to... in online racing though, one rarely has to wait 40
laps for a mistake. ;-)

I dunno Thom... seems to me they're still overestimating human competence
too much to really go down that path.

Check it... Ron Dennis admits Mika probably didn't respect "the sequence"
for turning on launch control when he stalled on the grid. If they pretend
to be that good at automatisation, how come they don't make an action as
important as that, which will be performed under quite some stress/pressure,
a little easier? I.e. more like a "gun it and press the big red button when
the lights go out" deal?

Think about it.

Jan. ;-)

Yep, the difference between real life injuries and a shift-r..

Guess who were laughing when you contantly overcooked it at the
exactly same place lap after lap at Solitude not so long ago. I had
problems consentrating, and the guys who were out of the race had a
ball.

You will have to pay for that comment at Mexico. :)

And because of that race I know exactly how David felt being stuck
behind Bernoldi - TOTALLY FRUSTRATED :)

Eh? What comment?
