PLEASE NOTE!  The URL has changed: I've moved them across to a
larger-capacity site.

My sincere thanks to Jaques Faure for supplying these wonderful shots of the
RA272 and RA301 whilst they were on display in Geneva, which has enabled
this update to what I popped onto the web yesterday.

I have model kits (Tamiya) of both the RA272 (1965) and the RA273 (1966) and
these pix will be invaluable for detailing.  They would also be eminently
suitable as reference for anyone contemplating new Honda shapes for GPL.

Enjoy!

does kits of the '60s GP Cars?

I don't believe that they are still in production, however I have seen quite
a few of the Tamiya 1:12 scale F1 model kits on Ebay.

Ace...try this website.  Although located in Japan it is in English, is run
by an American and lists EVERY plastic (and other!) kit made in Japan!

As an example...this page has 1/12 kits.  You'll see the RA273 is listed
(Yen 4000) and is still available. (Note also the Tyrrell 6-wheeler!)
Have a browse around the other scales...there's bound to be something there.

Didn't build the Lotus, got one from Exoto (www.exoto.com) and it looks
beautiful. They do a couple of Lotus 49s, Hill and Clark from '67 and 68,
and Siffert's from '68 but my plea for them to build an Eagle T1G has so far
met with no success

You're welcome, Ace.  I might just add that I have bought many kits
(including the 1/12 RA273) from this company.  Service has been excellent,
response to questions the same.

They had a "kit" (for want of a better term....a collection of plastic and
metal bits and a hand-drawn instruction "map"!) of the Lotus 49 as it first
appeared at Zandvoort.  It took me a long, long time to carely complete that
kit....never again.  It was just too arduous a task and what started as a
labour of love turned into a chore by the end of it. But it was a beautiful
result......the only kit of the Lotus 49 as she was first raced.
I've got some pix here somewhere...I'll scan them and pop them onto the
site.

Wonderfull Lotus 49 isn't it. I have one too. (a bit expensive but I
couldn't resist) I also have that 1/12 Tyrrell 6 wheeler, a 1/12 Renault
Turbo and a 1/12 '79(?) Ferrari. Small pieces of art...
