It kept me busy one night after that I got bored. If you like MS games I guess
it is ok.
Hopefully we will get GPL soon.

Other obvious flaws:
- no skill level setting
- very poor frame rate on a P200/3Dfx (48 MB RAM) unless I race by
myself, which isn't all that exciting; no graphics options settings
that can really improve it
- poor control when racing others, as the low frame rate affects the
control input quite badly
- invisible checkpoints on some race types

Agree. The stats kept by the game are pretty crappy too. There was
a marvelous opportunity to have an automatic ranking systems while
connected to the Zone, and they missed it.
My machine's a bit faster than yours, and it's really smooth in single
player. I lose about 15 fps (to 35...is there a built in limiter?)
when I play on the Zone - on 128K ISDN. As long as all players are sub
300ms, the games usually maintain that framerate...higher pings make the
game go haywire. Frames get dropped, and control gets ugly. It's at
its worst at the start of a race.
Not sure what you mean...but you can cut corners and miss jumps for
faster times...I consider it cheating and avoid players that do so.
Overall the game is a lot of fun...although there are a few other
things they missed in the game...like being able to change your bike
settings in a net race.
