F1GP2 relase date info ....

I forgot to mention that Microprose said "Before Christmas" as
a definite date (don't want to miss those crucial Christmas
sales, now do we !), but when pushed for a real date all they
could say was late October / early November at best :-(.
By the look of the demo there's a lot of work to do yet so I
reckon December 24th may be a good bet ;-)

Seems September was a tad too optimistic ! (But who can trust
any release schedule anyway ;-) ).

A demo is highly unlikely to be released. Geoff's time is
better spent on getting the game finished accoring to
Microprose, which is fair comment.

Yes, my brother went to the ECTS yesterday, and also got told this.
The guy laughed when my brother said "so September the 29th was a
bit optimistic".  He laughed even louder when my brother told him
the release date had come straight from the mouth of a Microprose
sales rep :-)  I reckon February or March 1996!

Regarding a demo, the guy told him that Geoff had taken a fortnight
to put the Monza demo together, and couldn't afford to take out any
more time to do a general release demo.

BTW, did you get to find out what Graphics card the Pentium 90 was
running?  My brother first thought the demo machine was something
like a DX2-66 judging my the framerate, and was amazed when the guy
from Microprose said it was a Pentium 90.  However, a friend of his
said that Microprose were notoriously bad at setting up demo machines.

He's writing up a report of F1GP II and all the other racing sims he
saw yesterday, I'll post it here this evening.  Thanks for your
memories of F1GP II, you spotted some bits he either didn't remember
or didn't tell me!

Cheers,

Steve.

Do you know if there is any chance of this Monza demo being available for
download?  If there has already been 2 weeks development involved in
getting this demo together it would be a shame if it didn't have a wider
audience than those at the exhibition.

I would love to be able to try the game out on my own machine even though
it may have limited functionality.

Here's hoping the real thing is released before too long

I did see the machine boot-up (I crashed the demo, :-) ), but I must admit I didn't think
of looking to see what the video card was :-(

I kicked myself for not taking my friends Camcorder with me.If I had I would have posted
some In-Demo screen grabs :-(
Oh well ....

Now you've stopped doing the Amiga F1GP editor, are you doing anything else F1 game
related ?

Byeee for now.
