I could be talked into an ETCC season. But I'd also like to return to
the F1 cars in March when the real racing starts up again. I don't
know why, I am so ***y slow in an F1 car.

I've heard some initial enthusiasm for the new DTM mod, but haven't
tried it myself yet.

Were we going to try for something this Sunday? (the 28th)

The DTM mod is *really* nice. Cars handle great, and are a little faster
than the ETCC cars. Some realy nice tracks included withe the mod as well.

You don't HAVE to Eldred but it sure would be appreciated :) I sometimes
think we guys take advantage of your generosity.

I'm not all that keen on the EA sims, other than F1C, but I've listened to
Mitch and forced myself to have a go. The ETCC installs easy and actually
grows on you. I found the only way to keep myself interested is to drive the
BMW (rear wheel) - the other cars are too placid, a bit like CTS.

I tried the DTM but after 2 humongous downloads it still tells me there are
missing files so I have officially given up on it.

Mitch ran an Interlagos ETCC last Weds. I'm not sure how many turned up as I
tried but couldn't make it myself. I think it might be an idea to run it
again on Sunday to start things off. It would be great if you could offer us
the server but I understand the short notice will be a problem. I can run
about 9 people (which is 3 times the usual F1C 'crowd') ;)

If I can install the mod without rebooting, then it's possible.  I'll see what
I can do.

I hadn't *planned* on it.  If we use ETCC, then I'll have to start the server
manually.  If we use one for N2k3, I think John's program will handle that now.

What track were you thinking of, Neil? There are several I haven't
even looked at, and if it's one of those, I'll need a _lot_ of
practice time before Sunday noon. (I don't _learn_ new tracks any
faster than I _drive_ them after I have learned them. <grin>)

Did you download and install the track pack as well?

Yep but I kept getting missing file messages. This is without doubt the
worst install procedure I've come across in recent years - hope it doesn't
reflect the general programming quality.

I was able to download and install without any issues.  Not sure why
maybe different versions on the different mirrors.

I like the mod but it has a few graphics probs on my box.  It feels like
its "not quite" ready for prime time.  Almost though.
