Road & Track driving simulator

The other day I saw a driving simulator that was produced by Road and Track, I believe it
was called "The Need for Speed".  Has anyone played it, or rated it yet?  It looked interesting.

Right.  Download the demo first.  Remember that this game is based
on street legal cars.  The full version allows traffic, cops, more cars,
and different tracks.  The cars' driving characteristics are modeled well.
As always, some love and others hate it.  It is available *now* though.
Just make sure you have a fast computer.

One quick question. Do you absolutely need a Pentium to run in SVGA
or does the full version allow you to switch like Nascar does? If not
it's no big deal, I'm still going to buy the game. :-) I'm just
wondering if they just gave out the demo in VGA for everyone or if it
was setup only to work in SVGA on Pentiums.......

I've bought the game, but not got the setting right for it to run - just
get a blank screen and then (after a long wait, or moving the
mouse/stick or pushing a key) drop back to the desktop. Ideas? Your
settings? I like this game, but not enough to keep booting to DOS just
for this!

Also - what's best for optimising the joysticks control. Tried
Joystick.Zip from Hobbes - but this just forces the joytick into a
digital rather than analogue control.....unless there is some sort of
configuring method (only documentation concerns instalation)

Cheers!
