Hi can any body help me with a problem.
I wish to modifie my Digital edge F1 sim wheel and pedals to a 3 axis
system, mainly to allow me to left foot brake even later than I do
know.......

If anybody can point me in the direction of where or what to do I`ll be
greatfull.....

Cheers Paul,

You'll need to rewire to separate the brake and throttle onto their own
individual axes.

If you visit "Lew's Wheels", you'll find wiring diagrams for both single
and split axis setups under the "electronics" sections. The url for
"Lew's Wheels" is: http://www.monmouth.com/~lw4750/

Good luck,

AFAIK, Digital Edge are the distributers of the F1 Sim, but the
original makers are called Ballracing developments, (formerly
Interactive Racing). E-mail them for more info on....

Or visit their website at....

http://www.InteractiveRacing.com

Or tel 07000 31 7224

You should have got a manual with your F1 Sim which tells you how to
set up separate axis for brake and pedal, I think you need an extra
cable from interactive racing and two game ports, or a game port
splitter (eg:- Quickshot 4 way joystick connector, or the Alpha Twin 2
way joystick connector).

You also need to flip a switch inside the pedal box, and attach the
extra cable and that should enable separate axis?

I switched the F1SIM to two-joystick mode by switching the internal
switch (in the pedals) to position 2. This allows three axis to be
used.

joy1-x : steering
joy1-y : pedal (right one which I use for accel)
joy2-y : pedal (left one which i use for brakes)

As you can see joy2-x is skipped and this causes problems under
DirectInput (part of the Direct X drivers) and caused be numerous
grief in F1RS.

So I rewired the cable so that Pins 11 and 13 were swapped over which
made the left pedal into joy2-x so that no axis would be skipped. It
worked a treat!!

Be aware that I'm only talking about MY F1SIM and that older/newer
models may be configured differently. I used the Thrustmaster Pro
Control Panel to check which controls were mapped to which axis.

I hope that I've pointed you in the right direction!!
