NR2003 and Chat Button Assignment

I have a small USB numeric keypad that I would like to attached the
center hub of my TSW wheel. I would like to assign the 0-9 buttons on
the keypad to send the various chat messages. This would be better as I
don't have to look to the side to locate the button on the keyboard. Is
there a way to implemet the keypad into the game and have it work in
the manner I described?

Any help appreciated.

Hi Darus.

Surprisingly and somewhat unexpectedly, I have, in the past, shared in
your hardware angst as it pertains to your ocular non peripheralicity.
We are a particularly imposing and abstruse subgroup, us vehement
forward lookers.
Yay! though we casteth our gaze thence but not thither; straight but
not sundry, sympathy is notable by its absence.
You will be thrilled to learn that I chanced upon a solution though:
gather yee a fine pair of leather horse blinkers. I proffer the
following as stalwarts in the field of horse blinker providers.

Never shall your gaze dither, hither.

TSW has a 7 button cover for their USB wheels
http://www.thomas-superwheel.com/prods/7btn.html that requires something
like RBJoy or JoyToKey in order to work.

Maybe one of those programs would work with your keypad.

Thanks for post Bob. I have tried a couple of those progs and I think
the underlying issue that the keypad is a another keyboard, not a
joystick or *** device. It seems that the progs we tried/suggested
are for converting a joystick to a keyboard, not the reverse.

Is there a way, to anyone out there, to have Xp recognize a numeric
keypad as a *** device? PErhaps a registry edit, although hosing my
install for the sake of convenience while racing seems a bit overboard.

Thanks again!
