Indycar under Win98?

   I know this is like really ancient, but my son and i like to race the old
original Indycar (not Indy2) game over the modem.
    Has anyone been able to get this or other old Dos games to work under
Win98 in a dos box or from the dos prompt?
    It keeps making me restart in Dos mode, and then I lose all support for
my Winmodem :(

ICR2 & GP2 work fine in a DOS window while in windows98.  I don't remember
about ICR.
